Gen. 1:26 – Let us make man in our image

Titus 2:14 – Who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.

The Cross

Jesus’ Cross – Phil. 2: 8 He became obedient to death – even death on a cross.

Our Cross – Luke 9:23 – Then he said to them all, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” (Five times in the Gospels)

Gal. 2:20 – I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The Life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Col. 3:3 – For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

Character formed by the cross is the foundation for ministry.  God wants better men and women, not just smarter or better trained ones.

The Resurrection – Resurrection has one meaning – life following death.

John 11:25 – I am the resurrection and the life.

Jesus spoke this at the tomb of Lazarus, a dead man who Jesus called forth to life. Has he done the same for you?

Rom. 5:10 – For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him by the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life.

Col. 1:27 – God has chosen to make known to the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

This is what happens when you are born again. You receive new life, spiritual life, the life of Jesus – in you. You become the people of God.
